Okay, another seat topic from me. Quell suprise...

Anyway, I've done a quick search and come up with the following threads

http://www.vx220.org...sed-the-search/

and

http://www.vx220.org...e-s2-seats-fit/

My question is, would my Vx220 Seats fit (and look right) in an S2 Elise? Seems someone may have some Exige Motorsport Probax to p/x. He tells me the Exige seats are on 2006 onwards runners, so I assume I'd need to find a pair of these also, or would it be possible to modify the runners on the car already.

Or, would it make sense to send my seats to him with the Vx220 runners (would these fit an S2 Elise direct) and for him to send the Exige seats with the correct runners already attached?

I believe the frames are different but you can interchange the seats. I think it might be the runners that make the Elise seat incline slightly if not the lotus chap might notice a slight difference in the seating position which is more upright on the VX.

So are you saying we shouldn't swap frames/runners just the seats themselves?

Take the subframes as well, if you want any kind of guaranteed fit of seat to car. Exige subframes also have double shear mountings.

So we reckon that Exige (06-on) subframes will fit the VX then?

Car is at Analogue automotive, so might just get the owner to ask Stef and see if he knows definitive answer anyway.

Frames will fit the car but not the vx seat. As jonny says, the elise seat sits back more and wont mount in the same place on our seats.

Are saying the Exige subframe fits the VX, and also fits the Exige seat so need the frames then?

Yes you will need the frames. Hark had the same problem I think (tried to use VX frames on pro bax seats) and ended up buying Exige frames so they'd fit.

Thanks mate, that seems to make sense.

So I need seats with the frames they're already attached to.

Will my Vx220 seats and the frames they're currently attached to fit the guy's Elise S2?

I never managed to make a set of facotry Exige seats fit under the roll bar.

We never got to the bottom of it, save that Paul thought it might have been a batch thing.

Was it roll bar or headrest things in the cover James?

If it's the latter I'll make a vocky mod. Not getting rid completely, given recent events.

Interesting reading so the tilt back on the elise seats comes from the frames? If the elise frames will fit the vx seats I can recommend that as a mod as the seating position in the elise is far comfier than the vx.
