Doubtful, it is Doncaster which as we all know is as close as you can get to a foreign country without actually needing a passport.

Now this is a really obscure and geeky fact but I think I know why that song is on there.......

Wasnt that tune on Lotus Turbo challenge on the Amiga back in the day? Would make it very tenuously relevant!

I'm sure I've got some of the figures and dates wrong , but just thought its about time we started to record as much info as we can.

I suspect Steve 2good will know plenty more about the first sales of each type.

Not sure exactly when production started, Back in 1999 Vauxhall gave the franchise of vx220 specialist to Baylis Gloucester & we (Haines & Strange Cheltenham, taken over by Baylis April 2000) had to give the 2 orders that we'd taken to them. Gloucester's demonstrator arrived much later than expected late 2000 early 2001 iirc & the first customer cars appeared in about Feb 2001. Gloucester didn't register any customers cars until March 2001. Cheltenham became vx220 specialists at some point in 2002, after Gloucester's salesman had left. Vauxhall increased the number of dealers from 50 to 75. There were plenty of 2001 model year cars sat in storage & stock of 2002 model year was building up, the car was supposed to be selling at the rate of 2000 a year in the UK & less than 500 were registered in the first year. Turbo announced early 2003. Demonstrators arrived in March 2003 & the first customer cars were delivered by about April or May (Frogman was the first customer of mine to take delivery). We were told the specification of 2003 model year 2.2's but to my knowledge none were ever built (they would've had the same clocks as a turbo plus some other changes) so I would say that 2.2 production ended late 2002 or early 2003

"The Speedster's interesting exterior features include its front and rear lamp clusters. Aluminium extrusions contain the bulbs and lenses, and although they look innovative and expensive, they are cheap to make."

it´s blocked in germany also.

When using a normal song (ie not from the youtube free song store), it depends on the agreement youtube has with the country. In some it will display an add to buy the song on itunes, and in some countries where they did not get to an agreement, they just block the video completely.

Never heard about a proposed 03 spec NA, could have been interesting. If only the 2.0 SC was available in time, the VXR would have been epic out of the box
