Anyone run a c20let clutch in their VX,

The Astra lot seem to think its a better, more capable unit than the standard one.

You mean the Calibra/Vectra 4x4 clutch? (C20LET)

This is something we are investigating too, as like you said it seems more capable than the stock Z20LET stuff. And cheap!

(I heard rumours that this is maybe the "fast road upgraded" clutch?)

Any way to verify this one with a CS uprated one with all the serial numbers grinded off?

The C20LET flywheel I bought came with a Helix clutch plate and cover. Looking at the part numbers, it's identical to that offered for the VX & VXT. The cover has a different part number though.

I run it! I changed it after my stock z20 clutch with 19k on it didn't like the extra power. It's been on for 12-13k and handled the extra power absolutely fine and only cost £80 if I remember correctly.

That's what we like to hear! :D

Do you know which C20LET clutch you got? The OEM LUK or maybe a HELIX?

And what power/Torque are now running with the Z20?

according to that the 2.2 and vxT can both use the same clutch, plus the C20LET will fit  ;)

Using a luk one from autovaux. Running about 270bhp not sure about torque though which is the more important figure.

270bhp in a VXT should be a solid Stage 3"? :glare:

According Courtenay that relates to an increases up to 260 bhp and 290 lb ft (392 Nm).

Probably plenty strong then for most SC builds. thumbsup (less peak torque but more revs)

LUK B - 8805 3,0 32398 is on the disc. Not sure if the 32398 is correct, could be 62398 or 82398 Possibly (or not) - Saab 9000 93-98 25x14t 21020 LUK clutch kit

I have two clutch kits here, one is boxed as a LUK and the other is a Helix. The Helix cover is identical to the LUK, but has the numbers machined off and it's been balanced. The Helix plate looks different to the LUK plate, but thats only the colour of the friction material

I have a courtenay C20let  "fast road" clutch.

Its a Standard Friction plate with an Uprated Pressure plate (no markings). Its been a great clutch!  lasted me a good few years on track /drag days etc at roughly 350HP 350Torque. Dont think it would take much more though (and dont blame it).

Nice topic.

I was wondering the same thing to a while ago if a 2.0 clutch would fit the 2.2.

Now reading this thread I remembered something i saw on Ebay:

http://www.ebay.com/...0a01113&vxp=mtr

The Chevrolet Cavalier from 2002 - 2005 uses the L61 or Z22SE engine with getrag F23 transmission and according the Spec Clutch Ebay ad, this clutch also fits the Calibra C20LET. Checked the Spec website and the productnumbers are identical:

http://www.specclutc...bra/1994/Single

So Spec says C20LET fits Z22SE and Helix says the Z22SE fits Z20LET... wow, nice to see the range of available clutches seem to extend.

So C20LET fits Z22SE.... but how about the Z20LET with F23 getrag?

Yes it does. We've already established that above.
