Hi all, I've fitted a tillet b5 seat with eb1 fixed mounting brackets, took a whole day faffing around to get it as low and as far back as possible, got there in the end. Question, what would be a good way of anchoring a harness on either side? Aso I know I need a harness bar, has anyone got any pictures close up of the clearance between back of seat/bar/car as I don't reckon I will be able to keep the speakers in mine as the seat is so far back.

I have just mounted mine six point harness from the Lotus Motor sport instructions , Drill through the floor each side of the rear floor mounting bolts, Add a spreader plate screw on the eye bolt .

I have a b5 with fixed mount. Will try and get some pics for you (won't be until the weekend though I'm afraid).

No worries. If you have the seat as low and far back as it will go (depending on how much you have it reclined) you will need the Jon betts track day bar. This means you will have to remove the speakers (I have the whole shelf u it removed). You'll also notice that there is absolutely no clearance at all between the seat and the floor (as the seat has a large rounded extrusion). I wanted to use a crotch strap but couldn't see a way of fitting.

Have you looked at that guide for the crotch strap fitting?

No I haven't. Stef at BoT fitted my lap straps as I was a little unsure how to mount them

I didn't use that guide for the crotch straps ,Just spreader plates and eye bolts through the floor.

Just had a quick look. The only thing that springs to mind is the lack of space. I had to leave the hand brake and gear leer shroud out as the bolts for the mount/seat fouled the tunnel

There isn't enough room under my seat for eye bolts. The seat is almost in the floor

You don't have eye bolts under the seat for the crotch strap, it bolts to the floor and the horizontal chassis brace ( the bit you stand on when getting in) the low bit of the seat is much further back. As picture 5 in the guide, I reckon you would get one in. I was looking at race prepped Elise's last weekend and their seats were low and had no problem with crotch strap mount.

The top of the crotch strap eye bolts are below the front edge if that make sense. My drivers seat is mounted on the OEM seat runner ,it sits low there is plenty of clearance.
