In contrast to my previous announcement that I wouldn't be producing any more , a change in circumstance means I both need to remove the remaining 27 fans from my loft and generate some money without (I hope) needing to sell my vx. So I will be producing 20 more heaters, in two batches of ten, with the remaining 7 fans being retained as spares. The first batch of ten is ready now, with three already being spoken for. The second batch will be produced after the first has been sold, there are no differences in the batch. This is a revised design which makes the unit suitable for both RHD and LHD, it is sold in RHD configuration unless specified. Once they are sold this is it, additional fans require a minimum order of 1000 units. Price remains the same at £320 + shipping at £16 or fitting in oxford at an additional £80.

Forgive me for asking... What is v2.8? The last thread I saw was for 2.6?

There was a 2.7, briefly.

MK2 is still the basic form it's in now, but has an exposed PCB (controller for the temp. solenoid) which could fail in harsh conditions

MK2.5 moved to using a potted PCB to make the PCB weatherproof, also made it easier to install by having open holes for the radiator to bracket bolts and a plug on the cable from the cabin. Radiator also moved to half height, but 4 x fin density to increase response time when temperature is changed.

MK2.6 addressed another weakness - the temp. solenoid itself (first supplier solenoids were fine, they couldn't supply any more so I bought some from a different supplier that appeared the same, however a couple of failures lead to me buying OEM parts at 4 x the price)

MK2.7 changed the tapped holes in the bracket for threaded inserts for greater durability.

Now we're at 2.8, which is certainly the final iteration. This combines the different designs for the RHD and LHD models into one bracket. It also (unfortunately) uses a solenoid that costs even more than my previous supplier of OEM parts as they can no longer supply.

Right, I think by my maths that's the first batch of 10 accounted for. 2nd batch not in production yet but will be as soon as all the 1st batch are out.

Just taken my OEM heater out to do some maintenance because the flap had stuck. Even though I must be lucky as my heater does generate a decent amount of heat, it was a major an arse to get out and such a poor design only destined to fail, that I'm loathed to put it back in!

Please can you put me down for a RHD heater from your next batch?

My v2.8 arrived today, just wanted to say that is a work of art Tom. Really pleased with the quality, couldn't be better. Should be fitting it over the next couple of days. Thank you.
