I have a Wii from aaaages ago, which I initially did the hardware mod with a PIC to enable 'backups' to be played. I then did the softmod with an the SD card trick to maintain the same functionality but without a box hanging out of the console.

This was many, many, many years ago so im sure the system updates will be a long way on now.

The question is, can I simply apply any nintendo updates and blitz the softmods without bricking the unit?

Littleun wants to use the Wii so there is no need for playing backup games etc.
