Hi Hope someone can advise

I Have a small piece of fiberglass which has broken away - To try and explain - It is underneath where the undertray fastens through the shear plate - Basially there is a hole in the edge of the fiberglass where a spire clip fits over - The bolt then goes through the undertray and shear plate and into the clip - Now the problem is the hole in the fiberglass is no longer a hole as a thin piece has broken away - I  want to attempt to repair - Is it best to try and reattach with some resin or to just build it back up and redrill the hole

Many thanks - Tony

Its pretty awkward as its the most forward hole which is right up against the chassis so - Nor really got  much surface area around the hole to lay on any matting - Dont really know best way to attempt to repair

I've just done this repair.

I originally tried posting P40 into the gap and clamping between two bits of plastic. It worked relatively well but wasn't as strong.

This time I make a new section from fibreglass, cut out a larger area and bonded it in place, laying extra fibreglass on top and using P40 to fill any gaps.

Hi which hole are you repairing ? In my case it is the most forward one of the 3 and part of the break is almost covered by the aluminiim how does the fiberglass sill attach to the base plate of the car is it glued ? Wondering if a could slightly losen the joint around the damage and allow me to get to more of the area around the area to be repaired

It's bonded into the tub. I repaired two holes; the middle and forward facing holes.

How did u manage to repaire the forward hole with it being so close to the tub - hard to explain but when looking up from the ground part of the btoken fibreglass is sort of covered over by the tub i.e the fiberglass runs on top of the alloy

Well I cut out a large section and pulled the bonded part from the tub. Details of a different repair, but same principle here: http://www.vx220.org...vice/?p=1657977
