Hi All,

I have an Audi TT 3.2 DSG Quattro for sale.
Having had a TT (1.8T manual) in the family before, I went to test drive this out of curiosity as much as anything, but I put a deposit down as soon as I drove it. It feels totally solid, with no rattles, everything works, and there is very little to indicate the age or mileage.

It's a 2004 (04) car, with 3.2 V6 petrol engine.
104000 miles, HPI clear
12 months MOT, 6 months tax
4 good tyres (Bridgestones all round)
FSH, full spec incl. 4WD auto and heated leather interior
"enthusiast owned" for the last few owners, and all of the typical TT issues have been sorted.
I'm looking for £4500 - I'll put it on here for a few weeks before I try PH etc.

Full service history (I have verified all of the history, and it even includes the delivery checklist).
Dolomite grey metallic paint, some marks in keeping with the age, but very good overall.
Cream leather in very good condition, some wear on drivers bolster.
ISOFIX mounting points on rear seats.
The rest of the interior is in very good condition, pretty much as new.
Alpine CD / Aux / USB headunit with bluetooth phone facility.
Heated front seats.
Climate control - blows ice cold.
Heated electric mirrors.
Xenon headlights with washers and range control.
ESP, ABS, traction and launch control
All books included, service recipts, and spare unused key.
Options ticked are Audi 6CD changer, armrest and cruise control.
The car started life as a UK car in 2004, went to Ireland in 2007, and is now being reimported to the UK in 2014.
It is classed as a UK car (not an import), with reg LT04 KTX. Genuine reason for coming back to the UK, it costs a whopping £1500 to tax it in Ireland!
CO2 is 238 g/km, and annual tax is £280 in the UK

Details
The gearbox is the DSG automatic - a twin clutch auto, with Drive and Sport modes plus manual override via the gearlever or paddles on the wheel. Its the best automatic gearbox I've ever used, and the only one I've ever preferred to a manual.
The V6 engine is a fantastic unit and really comes alive above 4000rpm. I didn't think it would compare to the 1.8T, but its got a great top end, lots of low down torque, and of course no turbo lag.
There is also a flap in the exhaust which opens under high revs to really let the V6 breathe, this can be easily modified to stay open.
The 4WD is a haldex system, it engages via an electronic clutch on the rear axle. Grip is tremendous, wet or dry. The car is front wheel drive normally, but will engage the rears once the fronts start to lose grip. As a result the ESP is less intrusive and won't kill the throttle (if you've had this happen in a mk4 golf, its nasty).
There is a slight shimmy as the rear drive kicks in, but its very satisfying driving it up near the limits to get it into 4WD drive mode.

Servicing
I will put up full details in due course, but in the past 12 months, the following has been done:
DSG service, haldex 4WD oil & filter, engine oil & all filters, 6 plugs, coolant change - basically all the routine servicing.
It has also had : a new battery, new temp sender/thermostat, new dipstick & housing (common fault with TTs - heat in the engine bay causes the plastic fittings to crack)
The 3.2 has a timing chain, so no belt to be changed.

The niggles:
- a low speed impact to the rear cracked the lower valance and scuffed the bumper. Its difficult to see and picture, but there is no structural damage.
- the wheels could do with a refurb to get them perfect again.

Its very very good - the big difference is there is no torque converter, so no slip - the revs dont take off when you put the foot down like an old skool auto. You also get proper engine braking and throttle blips when you downchange, plus a kickdown under the accelerator pedal (put your foot to the floor, and there's an extra bit of travel which will kick the gearbox down into a lower gear).

I had a BMW with a traditional auto a few years ago, and it was great, but it sometimes felt like there was an elastic band in the drivetrain. It also had minimal engine braking, which was annoying on a windy B-road, it needed constant dabs of the brakes whereas normally engine braking would do the job. This new type of gearbox sorts 95% of those problems.

Whenever I'm looking for another motor, I'll be looking for a DSG > manual > auto ... its that good!

Its OK for a 3.2, 30 mpg on a run, low 20s in town driving. Range is about 400 miles to a tank (60 litres)

I had one of these before the VX, completely different experience than a VX granted, but an amazing car to drive non the less.. can't think of a better all rounder daily drive for the money tbh, suprised it hasn't sold already!

The 3.2 I had was better on fuel than the 1.8T I had previous when out on a journey

Yeah, its quite an all rounder alright, in the past week its held its own while doing: - a mini-hoon across Wales last weekend - a motorway run down to London - a drive across London in stop-start traffic - a site visit to a solar farm in Kent - and after a quick wash its on wedding duty today!

Now up on PH http://www.pistonhea...ro-2004/2248064

- obviously I'd prefer it to go to a good home, so I'll do a better price on here.

How big are the rear seats? Probably couldn't get a rear facing baby seat in it?

Possibly, there are isofix points on the back seats. You'd definitely get a forward facing one in.

I drove it the other day and it is a lovely car.  I guess if you drive it hard like anything it will drink fuel hand over fist however John explained that on a long run, average motorway speeds then it hits 34-35mpg.  However as you can imagine planting the right foot and its rubbish on mpg.

MOT done last Friday - I did nothing but drive it in & it passed with no advisories.

And in terms of mpg I'm getting 24.2 mpg pottering around London, and mid 30s on a run.
