Right.. So i was right in whats happening but instead of saying it needed more rebound (as i thought it was how fast it pushed it back) you actually needed less rebound because more rebound actually means its harder for the shock to return. Yea ?

I missed this one completely.

First off, the GGPII have been much better and returns are practically zero and as a twin tube, is fine, the Monotubes had two fail (mine and MartinS) due to a failed valve, an issue which is now long resolved.

Secondly, the Nitron recommended service schedule is 12 months and will cost you £320 to do.

Thirdly, Jimmy won on Nitrons, I won on Gaz Monos then on Quantums. All this proves is that both Jimmy and I are clearly driving Gods that can win on any damper.

People will buy on budget mostly; can't escape that. Pick your budget then buy the best you can afford. Gaz, Nitron and Quantum all have good products nowadays.

Thanks for all of that! Finally after 8 pages I think I can select a set of shocks for mine. Unfortunately it is something that people will select on price to a certain extent. I was looking for something under £1k and mainly road use like the OP but previous threads have just turned in to a shouting match between the gaz and nitron users. All three (as in Gaz, Nitron and Quantum) have good offerings for this budget and it's great to finally have some useful info and user reviews, positive and negative, to make a decision. Hope it's helped the OP too! Stacey

Yup, it is looking most likely to be the Nitron Street Series. Although I would have really fancied those Quantums that appeared in the for sale section!
