Mahoosive company and big sponsor in motorsport. I'd still have a Bosch battery though.

I watched a program on tv with batteries being made on a production line that then split off in all directions so they could all be badged and packaged for different company's at massively different prices just like most stuff these days I suppose. Yuasa are a well known brand probably made in the same factory as Bosch and all the others

My local Halfords now sells Yuasa in place of Bosch as their premium brand.

Yuasa sponsors Team Dynamics BTCC Team, running Honda Civic Tourers this year for their recent champions Matt Neal and Gordon Sheddon.

Funny that halfords do that.... given they used to (and probably still do) sponsor the Yuasa team

Re: halfords... their 3 and 4 yr guarantee 063's are branded "halfords" and their 5 yr guaranteed batteries are Yuasa, but as per the web site, they will sometimes supply Bosch as an alternative.   ...been looking at battery's recently as mines getting on a bit (nearly 4 years) and isn't holding charge as well as it did.

Pretty sure I have one in the VX, sounded like a cheapo brand I had never heard of at the time but has lasted 3 or so years so far.

Seems pretty positive. I will see what the cost differences are. The one i been spec'd is the top one with 50ah, what ever that means. The factory one is 43ah????

Amp-hour is how much energy is stored in the battery. 1ah could light a 1 amp bulb for an hour. A 2ah battery could light 2x 1 amp bulbs for an hour, (or 1x 1 amp bulb for 2 hours) etc. Car batterys are normally classified by CCA (cold cranking amps) though as thats when the batterys are mostly used, the short sharp shock of starting.

I bought a new battery last week because the starter would barely turn the engine, even when the battery was fully charged.

A Bosch 063 S4 4-year guarantee £32.87 'click and collect' from Euro Car Parts. Halfords 3-year guarantee - £59.99.
