I'm running 235 rear and 205 front Yokohama ADO8R 17 inch tyres and its looking like they'll have there first trackday tomorrow, anyone used these and have guides for tyre pressures. Running 25fr 27 rear at the mo but doesnt feel anything like as good as my old R1R's did. Hopefuly that will change with use and experimentation.

If no ideas, I'll do the chalk on the sides thing and find the ideal during the day tomorrow.

They are not really the same type of tyre as R1R so will feel very different. I find the delicate handling and extra feel of a car like a vx means that small changes like tyre type, pressures and geometry are very noticable.

IMO you will never get ad08s to feel like R1Rs because they generate a lot less grip. In a few months you might think you do - but in reality you have just forgotten how grippy R1Rs are and what it felt like on R1Rs and this has become the norm :P

Obviously there is even more difference but I remember swapping from A048s to khumos and it felt like a totally different car - in fact it almost felt like I suddenly had power steering!

When researching all the tyres it began to sound like the new R version of the ADO8 would be as good as R1R'S, shame to hear that may not be the case. If its wet tomorrow I will be finding out.

Personally, not loving the new wheels and tyre combo, lots more tramlining, am aware that as theyre wider they will be possibly even more prone to aquaplaning, they were rubbing like mad (solved now with some speaker inserts (£5)), and cant help feeling the ATS DTC's have slightly chavved my car up still.

Am going to the good old 24fr and 26 rear as a start point.

Got 3 from tyreleader and one from ears.

They rub at 205 235 Martin? That surprises me. I thought 215 235 wouldn't rub (Simba/Dave H car is like that on dtcs). I thought 225 245 was where the rubbing started! :/

Yokohama Ad08r's 205/40/17 and 235/45/17 don't rub on my 17x7.5j and 17x8j TD 1.2's, infact its barely even close to rubbing I believe so seems to be a bit random but I suppose its all down to camber, ride height and so on
