Hi All,

I have an issue with my central locking not working -  and decided to try and fix it today; it will unlock if I push the buttons down but will not lock the door motors pulse but does not lock... same as this thread... http://www.vx220.org...entral-locking/

I removed the dash - this guide was very useful.....http://www.vx220.org...eated-seat-kit/

.. and removed the CDL unit.

Checking the unit I can tell that one of the relays has failed.... (the black boxy parts on the circuit board)

The part number on the relays is HG 4117 012-Z1 which means they are form C as shown on the data sheet, 12V and 130R coil see: http://www.willow.co.uk/HG4117.pdf

Measuring the coil resistance one of the relays reads approx. 130 ohms, and the other is open circuit.

The board is coated so you have to push fairly hard to get a good meter reading.

The coil pins (solder joints to measure coil resistance) are as shown above

I will try to source a suitable replacement relay and replace - hopefully this will fix the issue and save time and hassle of souring a replacement unit

It is fairly unusual for a relay coil to go open circuit unless it has had power continuously applied, causing too much heat!

Has anyone else tried changing the relays and if so did it work?

Ta, Sean.
