Hi guys, just wondering how good these EDS inlet manifolds are? They claim up to 30bhp more on a stage 4, reeeeeally?! Any experiences? Thanks

I think Aimy was looking at one. Not sure if she fitted it though?

I think SizTenBoots bought a copy of one of these, perhaps ask him.

In theory they will add power at the upper end of the rev range. The guy who made this particular item copied the plenum design from the C20LET version of this and modified the flange to suit the Z20LET.

I've got such an Inlet Manifold. (The Dbilas inlet manifold is the same)  They are much lighter (only 2kg) and the car holds power longer comparing to the standard manifold.

clearance of the tophat to the engine cover might be a problem

to me if feels like the turbo is working a lot easier , and top end is big difference

currently K04-0049 , aka VXR

mainly as most people have that and its makes sense to develop maps with that turbo setup.

Over Easter I will be replacing that with a hybrid.

That sounds interesting that your developing different maps. Is it a k06 that your planning on using?

yes, held boost will be around 22psi , compared to the usual 18psi most of us have. Overboost will be about the same.

map already done, needs 630cc injectors, quick comparison

oops, sorry thats for a k16 Porsche hybrid , no need for 630cc injectors on with a k06 hybrid unless running IC

k06 hybrid , usually refers to bits from the Audi RS6 k04 (2275 comp wheel) , or S3 8P TFSI turbines / hot sides , basically the 2283 comp wheel is the one to have.  "2283" on account of its Exducer (2.2") and Inducer (83% of 2.2") , 5306-123-2014

its confusing because one company's hybrid or what they call a k06 varies , and they tend to obscure what actual turbine/compressor wheel they built it with.

I'm also running the Eds manifold and tophat. It's got sweet topend and once i can get the map updated it will be even better. The whole breathing setup is much improved and would benefit from a nice remap.

Hi guys, thanks for the feedback. So could i expect much more power/torque along with this?

Yes, high power Z20 engine will bennefit intake and TB upgrades, most gain when airflow is at high end of power curve. Not sure if it helps at all for less powerfull engines.

I made 310 bhp with mine. Did have to modify the tophat and bonnet grill to make it fit though!

Also I would advice against buying the cheap £250 knock off, as mine was shocking quality, by the genuine one.

Apologies for the double post, my phones fault!

You wont get "loads" of extra power, something between 10 and 20 BHP is the norm I think.

Last week I visited Klasen in Germany. They also make a inlet manifold for the Z20LET.

Since I have the EDS one fitted I asked them what are the real differences?

Klasen:

More torque in lower rev ranges

More horsepower in middle rev ranges

EDS:

More torque in higher rev ranges

More horsepower in higher rev ranges

This is because of the design of both, EDS has a short "channel" and the Klasen one longer ones!

Someone posted a dyno comparison with eds vs Klassen (think it was Siztenboots? )
