So, took a gamble with the finance on the car which hasn’t paid off (it’s not on finance, I just need to release the funds invested in it.. the wife losing her job just after I bought it didn’t help!!), so I need to sell..

Bought in Sept last year off Turboluca (HPI clear though, this one.. I think a few of you saw it there.. it was on S2OVX) and enjoyed for 5k miles as my daily driver since then..

Calypso red, ’04 plate, 31176 miles (will go up), I’m the fifth owner. FSH (Vauxhall, then specialist, with the all-important cambelt at 26329 miles in June ’13 at the last service). Recent engine mount change, geo and ride-height set up by Back on Track.

Standard bits: all the usual (you know, air-con, PAS etc.. :P  ), plus door pockets and remote central locking.

Modifications: Thorney Stage 3 (which includes the charge-cooler) in ’07 (receipt for £7.5k!), VXR Milltek exhaust,  Nitron adjustable (one way) shocks, Compomotive MO alloys (16” front, 17” rear.. I do have the centre caps, they’re just not in the pics),  TAT short diffuser, satin black painted (not wrapped) V, wing mirrors, windscreen surround and rear Vauxhall griffin badge, harness cut-outs in the standard seats, Back on Track VX sun-strip, spray wiper arm mod.

Never been near a dyno (the guy that spent £7.5k might have done!) but TMS claimed 260-ish brake for their stage 3 and it sure feels quick enough to me.. With the charge-cooler, you’re probably only about £1 – £1.5k off a stage 4 if that’s your bag..

I’m in no massive rush to sell, I have a deadline of August. The private plate will be taken off the car, but not until (non-refundable) deposit is taken as I am continuing efforts to sort the finances in order that I can keep her until the last minute before she goes..

If I was able keep her, I would complete the VXR-look with powder coating the wheels, diffuser and fuel filler satin black (I’d already bought the black bolts for the filler cap!). I can arrange this for the buyer for £300 (something to look forward to whilst waiting for the number plate transfer..).

Luca arranged a full respray for this car and as such she is superb nick. No bubbles or defects. She was stone-chip free when I bought her, but 5k miles has given her a light peppering at the front end but nothing major or that a touch-up wouldn’t cure, and only noticeable up close. Seats are in fab nick, with the lightest of wear showing on the passenger bolster. The headlight brackets, which are made of cheese, have been replaced by BoT with thanks to Jon at Lotus Hardtops so no worries about the headlights being half-inched..

Jez at BoT (who is happy to vouch for the car, by the way) says that with a good polish you wouldn’t be able to see any chips because you’d be dazzled by the shine off the paintwork..  B)

Bad bits: apart from the odd chip as mentioned, there is a slight crack in the driver’s side sill cover near the b-pillar (could probably be glued, tbh..) and the rear tyres (Toyo T1R all round) are on the wear bars. Slight scuffing on n/s splitter.

With regard to the tyres, I do have a full set of brand new (never fitted) Federal RSRs that are available separately by negotiation..

It had a light knock at the front before Luca’s ownership but it was cosmetic only (pic available).

I had an NA before this, and I missed it every day after I sold her hence stretching myself to buy this. It was a stretch too far, so she has to go, but I will be back in 12-18 months..

I’m in Farnham, Surrey and viewings are welcome. I’m happy to take you out in her, but if you want a test drive bring proof of insurance and bank statement to show me you have the money to buy her (or, better still, bring the money!) if you break her.

Loads of pics available (selection below).

Price? How does £13,950 sound?

Cheers, chap! :) I'll be back to you in 12-18 months, when the E30 is fully restored and sold, for a SC'ed example if you've got one at the time, or a good NA to get SC'ed.. :D

I agree it will look even better with the 'look' complete and if the wheels made the difference between selling it, or not selling it, then I could be persuaded to include the powder-coating in the deal, but - for now - I can't really justify spending more money on it for what would just be, essentially, for aesthetic purposes..

Surely if that was an issue, £13,700 would be offered and negotiations would ensue. Not the end of the world.

Ok, I'm going to apply a bit of seller's logic here.. which I know is rarely the same as buyer's logic but bear with me!!

How about I say £13950 as-is, or £14750 with the powder coating done (wheels, diffuser & petrol cap) and brand new RSRs all round?

No issue with the silver wheels at all, didn't mean it like that. Think it will sell as it is, just imo black wheels would really finish off the look, that would be upto the new owner to decide though was more my thinking.

Sounds good logic, it's giving the buyer the option then.

Is that the same logic as

?

As I said, buyer's logic not necessarily the same as seller's logic!

The sun's out (daan sarf anyway..), gave the car a good roof-off spanking (when suitably warmed up, obvs..) on the way to work. Avoided getted crashed into by a tw@t in a chavvy modded TT who wanted a race (he didn't get one), still got the pulse racing but still for sale.. Just so's you knows..  :)
