Hi All

Had a leak from the bleed valve on the rad return hose. Tried to loosen but looks like it's been overtightened as the thread mounting is turning also. Have fixed a jubilee clip around it and will try running tomorrow but not holding out much hope as it was leaking as I did the clip up  :(

Does anyone know if there is a way to replace the radiator hose on the passenger side without removing the clam ? Any reference, guides, pictures etc would be FAB

Any comments greatly appreciated  B)

Yes you can.

Headlight out (13mm deep socket), front under tray off, use a 7mm (i think) socket on an extension to reach into the hole to undo the jubilee clip. pull hose off, get wet. refit.

Cheers, great now laptop is playing up (as above). So the jubilee clip on the rad is accessible and also the one at the other clip at the other end of the hose. Headlight out anyway. Yeah a nice shower in Dexron sounds inviting, not !!

Just a thought how do you get the jubilee clip on the rad end of the hose ? Is there enough room to get a 3 year olds hand in to hold it as you get the hose over the rads tube ?

Is it possible to seal the bleed mounting with silicone and then nip up the jubilee clip? Might work short term but best route is to replace. Have you thought about replacing with silicone hoses instead? You can get then with the bleed point on the driver's side which is easier to access.

Yes had thought about that i.e sealing but it's tiny and don't want to risk sealing the bleed valve in, any suggestions appreciated.Looked at silicone on Elise parts. Where can you get the hoses with the bleed valve on the other side. Could then replace both ?

Going to start it and run it tomorrow and if all looks good give it some beans and see if it's still dry. It's just it was leaking as I did the jubilee clip up. Yes know what you mean if it works leave it ! But think unfortunately it's a new hose job. The other half is delighted !!

Won't be far off till you replace your coolant as it has a life of around 3 years.
