Stick a normal relay (one of the grey ones from the front compartment, if all else fails) in the meantime.

All the yellow one does is kill the starter button once the engine is running, so if you can resist the urge to dick about with the starter button when the engine is running, you'll be fine.

Is there anyone in particular I should/shouldn't use from the front?

Hmmm. One of those missing will probably mean you fail something else on the MOT unfortunately - one is the horn, one is the fan and not sure what else. They're standard relays though, so should be available from Halfords/Maplins/etc.

Tried it but still didn't work.... When I turn it on at the key now I get a repeated very fast clicking it's not the starter but sounds more like the relay and the the throttle body? Any thoughts? Thanks for the help so far....

Cheers guys will go through the battery clean and check all the terminals etc.... It has been on a ctek for the last 24hrs, but maybe I have taken too much out of it in repeated attempts to start it.... Until the next installment ....

Good luck mate. Did I hear you're down this neck of the woods in July sometime? Stopping by for a beer?

Hi g, Will be at Matt bentley's on Monday the 7th I think, if the damn thing will start. Update; connected another battery with jump leads, so now all clicking sounds are gone and now it is just dead on the button, no noise from the fuel pump either..... All lights etc on dash as normal... Not sure what to check next....

Ok new battery fitted terminals earthing straps etc all cleaned and car is now turning over fine, but now I am getting the p1610 error code which is immobiliser. I have opcom and have read and cleared the codes, and also visited vauxhall so have the security code, however still won't start and scarced to reprogram the immobiliser or start deleting the keys.... Am I right in saying my options are take it to vauxhall to fix with the tech 2 (this is what tango alpha did) Buy a new key/transponder and program that to the immobiliser?... Your help is appreciated... Cheers Pete
