Does anyone know if this (see link below) would be a worthy second car as I await a used black vxt to come on to the market. Just reading the evo and circuit driver review had my mouth watering, need some feedback from someone that has experienced one first hand. Or does anyone have a link to a relevent forum.

integra type-r

This post above refers to the normal integra type r but no reference to the racing version. I need four seats capability and not too bothered about comfort.

All gone. You can't get the Racing one anymore. Shame 'cus 11k was a bargin. They can still get you a normal one.

I was going to get one a couple of years ago 11K is nonsense, by the time you added on VAT and the options you'd want for road & track use it took it up to over 16K IIRC thumbsdown Had a good chat with Dave Minter at Hethel about them as well and he agreed they were quite good on track but still they're FWD and ultimately frustrating. Although having said that Richard Woore of Steels Honda races a DC5 and came to a lot of trackdays - on slicks he was often the quickest car on track

I've just spoke to my mate about importing one for me. He's looking into pricing at the moment.

Yeah at £11999 I thought I might be dreaming. The plus VAT words are before the price, so I thought the VAT might be included. Its a crime if these can't be had. Is it something to do with the model report thing, that these can't be imported into the country?

It's a sensible way to go Ged, was gonna recommend something like that on your other thread

It would certainly be my choice if I was downgrading from a VXT or the like, but Andy is right, the FWD handling, though very good, may frustrate you and the power (engine is great IMO) will be nothing like a stage 2 VXT

Jedi can your friend get this car imported. Why is it said there are only a few left, has production ceased? This car is the nuts, looks so much better than a civic type r. If it were available along side the civic type r, I doubt they would sell any civic type r. It seems also the spec is similar to that of the vx in that there are no carpets etc - perfect.

I've just come from a VTEC motor, albeit a lowly 2.2 Prelude with approx 200bhp. If you've not driven a VTEC before then I think you would be disappointed with the low down grunt. I found the VTEC to be fine once on the move, but pulling away at lights etc means having to rev the nuts off it. Also I found that when considering overtaking Id be sitting at 5K revs waiting for an opportune moment. The NA i recently purchased has so much low down grunt compared to the VTEC, and thats how I like it, but I guess it depends on your driving style. Id say the VTEC engine would be superb if VTEC came in at 1800RPM :) Anyway, just my tuppenth, but Id definitely take one for a proper test before purchasing.

I could never own a car that only had power at above 6500 rpm at which point my ears start bleeding ;) Oh yeah and they are hardly a car you would describe as anything but ugly, sorry I am being negative but they really do nothing for me as an everyday car, they would be great as a little track car but nothing else

To me a heavy car like a sl55 with power throughout the rev range would be undesirable. Cars with the power all in the top end, I do like reving the fcuk out of things its in my blood. For 3 years of my life i rode a rgv250 daily and then a aprilia rsv250 for a year after that. the best damn time i ever had on 2 wheels or in 4.
