Given the discussion on the weight of the VXR wheels (which i was planning on getting) - what are the alternatives if I want to have 16in fronts and not change to Lotus hubs? Before anyone says - i know it may be around somewhere but I haven't got the energy to search!!

AFIK there aren't any other 16" front wheels that don't require lotus hubs to fit. OZ made superleggeras which would fit using special bolts (I have these) but Foxy has been told you can't get them anymore. You could get a bespoke set made but for 4 wheels it would cost £1200 or so

It think I'd have gone for the hubs sooner but I think it can get expensive. Hubs, new wheels, then new tries etc...

As do Vaux astra turbo and vectra alloys - the only problem is finding a design wide enough - you then need slightly narrower tyres on the front (depending what set-up you are after)

Just sorting piccies of them for the shop.

Fitting is a pop.....they simply replace the Astra ones complete with ABS sensors.....DIY is fine. thumbsup

Thought I'd share this Babel Fish translation re the ATS DTC's - deep breath: Finite is it there! That again ATS Speedster wheel! Clearly fewer weights, better optics and innovativere technology was the goal, so plumb bob US and OPEL opel-Tuner Moto Concept from Wiesbaden. The wheel manufactured in the low pressure casting procedure has a substantially higher rigidity opposite, the forged and rolled wheels used so far in the road sport. Thus the driver receives a better and more exact feedback from the roadway and the chassis and/or finds faster and more exact he an optimal Setup. The Untersteuern is complete away and the handling optimally! Here we carried whole work out with the ATS specialists. There are the rims only with us! Ecklusiv for MCR manufactured. The wheels have the dimension 7.5 x 17 tariff and at the rear axle 9 x 17 tariff. Tires can be installed in size 215/45/17 and 245/40/17. The sum of accurate feedback and optimized Setup causes that the driver can brake later and out-accelerate in former times from the curves and the ungefederten masses are reduced clearly. The cooling of the brakes is substantially improved by the open many spoke Design, also it offers aerodynamic advantages at high speeds. The air turbulence at the outside wheel side is many smaller than with the normal rim. The sentence is supplied as follows: 4 rims, 10 high-strength wheel bolts (fG 10,9) for the front axle (in the back the old persons remain) Rims fit directly to the car. ET extension firmly at the rim as Compount! (MCR only) type appraisals after § 19/3 (at each gas station or TUEV, GUES Dekra etc..) A rim weighs for each VA 9,400 gram and hectar of only 10,800 gram. :o :o :o Love the "in the back the old persons remain"

Speedy, Thanks for the info. I've posted a dumb newbie type question on the other thread (oops ) querying how the wheel sizes of 7.5 and 9 in inches compare with 5.5J and 7.5J. I note the rims in the picture are 4 stud not 5. Presumably 5 are available. chinky chinky
