Just wondering what people do when they need to top up petrol on a track day. I Know most tracks have a petrol station 5-10 minutes away however so far we've found it easy enough to take a jerry can with us our only problem being that when we come to fill up the car due to the angle needed to fill the VX and the terrible spout on our jerry can we end up spending 5 minutes filling and 10 minutes cleaning petrol spillages i'm wondering if anyone else has had better experiences with other jerry cans or the pump contraptions for them?

I was thinking of getting something like this Link with a 20L jerry can to match, anyone had experiences with a similar setup?

I bought a pump to fit jerry cans.  Saves lifting and spillages (unless you overfill).

If you get one, I recommend you remove the air bleed as they leak, and instead to stop flow push the air vale on the middle of the top of the pump head.

I find I run out of fuel before the lunch break so cans of fuel are the only real option. Link not working for me. I use 20l jerry cans with a Polarn pump. It empties the can in about 45seconds. Fuel goes straight in the car if you don't need to measure it or decant into a jug if you do. Only downside is that you can over fill and the residual pressure in the can keeps the fuel coming.

Having used a 10l jerry can to stick 30 litres in the car when I recommissioned it, I didn't have a problem with the bendy hose. Just stuck the hose in and rotated the jerry can upside down. Not a drop of spillage.

That's your problem.

I have no problems filling with a flexi-hose, in fact It's impossible to spill (unless you drop it)

Wasn't there someone on Dragons Den a few years back that had invented some trick fast filling no spilling spout?

That looks funky, and they're quite cheap too compared to a normal spout, thanks for the info :)

I have 5 litre cans from Halfords and do as Techie does. Never spill a drop.
