Before Silent Steve retires, I've been meaning to post up here about this.
Joe and his shadowy little helper SC'd (Eaton all the way) my car a few months ago. They have been diamond - super helpful and efficient with great support whenever I needed it.
I finally got it CS remapped last Friday; she made 258 horses and now goes like stink.
Final words on this matter (meant in a "I never intend to track" kind of way) to describe what it's like to the non-engineer folks:
The standard NA is a delicate beast. Great handling and lots of feedback, but it is prone to being blown away by Audi A6 3.0 Tdi s (not that this matters particularly, but it's just not as fast as it looks).
The SC transforms the car with seamless non-intimidating, usable power and (with my Miltek system, at least) makes it sound like a jet taking off. This is a good thing.
It does mean that the engine dominates the experience in a way an NA doesn't, but if you are in two minds whether to do this or not, I urge you to run (do not walk) to your nearest Batphone and get it done before Joe gets bored (or worse married) and stops doing these things.
Lovin' your work Joe: Bringing happiness to the masses.
