Do we know of anyone who has dropped one of these in a VX? Advantages would be very high rev limit as std Excellent reliability At the weekend I saw 3 Exiges with this transplant. Not sure what the gear shift would be like but seems like a good power-plant. Kindly, Paul

Its a expensive conversion to a Eliese S1 would say the same for a VX. Drop fiveoclock he did the full conversion including a sc to a S1

It's not cheap, check MSC or Sinclaires for costs on the elise platform. A lot of that money is due to it being labour intensive. Do it yourself and you're laughing...

I'd love a K20 conversion, but pound for pound an SC is just too good to overlook. A charged K20 would give you 300ish though if you went FI.

Hi here is my bilt thread. http://www.vx220.org...peedster/page-1 I am doing a K24 conversion and it´s comming from the same Engine family as the K20 from the CTR. The main difference is the volume, stroke and 18.5mm deck height. The deck height will only change one thing (more or less) and this is the right side Engine mount. BR, Per

To be honest I am not interested at all in peak power in a major conversion. Reliability, good gear change and high rev limit are more important to me. I would have thought 2 litre CTR would have ticked the boxes for 2 of the above criterion but not sure about the gear change. Kindly, Paul

I thought the Type R Civic got praise for the gear change.

The linkage and connections would have a fair amount of impact on the gear change feel though.

Mmm would probably still be better than our std gear change though.

Talking of gears, if it were possible to get the same max speed in each gear even though there is another 1,500 rpm before the red line it would mean the ratios would be very low. Meaning the power would be multiplied more so than using std gear ratios, the effect that 200 hp would have more effect than it would in a higher gear car.

I have yet to drive a car with a more accurate gearbox than the VX I had... And in the last 2years I have driven most 'normal' cars.

I did and doubt there is much difference to the FRP. It was smooth and effective, but the vx gear change was mechanical and accurate.
