Hi all, just thought I'd share another picture of my Dash 2 installation; the all important view through the steering wheel!
It's really lifted the look and feel of the interior. It's made a special car feel just that bit more special.

Thanks for your feedback guys. I've finally finished the entire set up. Until yesterday I still had issues with the fuel reading, the figures moving about during acceleration, braking and cornering. It took a lot of trial and error to slow the numbers down enough, but not too much. It's easily done through the laptop, but no reference point as no other VX owner had done the Dash 2 mod. At least not to my knowledge. But I'm thankful it's finally done and very very accurate in all areas. It's great that you can fine tune and calibrate everything to get it all spot on.

Top work!  I reckon you could have a nice little sideline of installation and setup for other VX'ers ;)

It's scary, but I reckon on at Least 150 man hours. But it doesn't help that I have severe OCD!

I'm currently building a fuel level filter as someone on Seloc with an AIM MXL Strada is having issues with the level banging around like a loon.

Do you have the same problem or does your have decent software filtering already?

Looks good. Glad you like it. Had one in my Westfield but didn't really like it because the back-lighting was never up to the job so it was hard to read in sunlight, even after it was sent back to be fixed.

The level sensor moves about all over the place. I've got the filtering set really high to combat this. In fact Race Technology reckon they've never seen filtering of this extent before!! Good old VX electrics! Race Technology have improved the LCD display contrast on the Dash 2. The firmware now has backlighting that is switched on with the sidelights, and I can read the screen perfectly fine in bright sunlight, with or without polarised sunglasses.

Ohhh, jolly good, hopefully I can make a bit of a product out of the filter I'm making  Although a simple RC filter would also work but thats far from fun :P

Its becuse the VElise tank sloshes about like a goodun and the race dash folsk are used to tanks that are foamed and baffled so the level doesnt dance round like a lady in a strip bar.

Yeah, it really does slosh about! I kept filtering and filtering, but couldn't get it to slow down the numbers. I thought I'd have to dig the whole thing out of the dashboard and fit another resistor to help with the voltage swing. I just kept increasing the amount of zeros after the decimal point in the average samples field until I finally hit the jackpot. It now works a treat!

thats lucky, the AIM one only has a few filter choices, hence building hardware to do it now.

If you get stuck and the filtering is similar, let me know and I'll talk you through the settings.
