Picked up 3 of my childhood sets from my mums and thought I'd check all the pieces were there before putting them in my loft.
Looking at the value they are bloody expensive bits of kit.

Obviously the best way to check the pieces is too build them. And to build the various variants in each set.

So built the submarine, No photo, then built the shuttle which was the main one.


Missing a few pieces (inc the wheels, somehow!) So I've ordered the parts needed on Bricklink (great site)

Then built the second set.


Missing 6 pieces so I'm about to order them. Need to build the second version in that set now. Really is a chore

Been looking at the star wars ultimate collectors sets though. They are £1000's of ££££!
But, if you buy the pieces separately it works out quite a bit cheaper. If you buy cleverly. The other thing is to raid car boots. Thinking about it hmm.

I know a guy in Castleford who is big in to this & got a house full, I actually thought he was the only adult who collects them. I only found out when I went out to the Store in Cheshire & when I saw the Lego buckets he started showing me all the collection on his mobile. I suppose I could ask him if he has spares?

Which ones do you have? Saw a ad on the new mini a while back. Just finished a dumper truck and somehow missing a tyre and the motors gone.

The Lego ghostbusters car is brilliant, bought it for my sister, but had a beer and put it together, was really fun. I looked at the delorean, but it doesn't look right in my opinion.

I used to have the pneumatic digger / snow plow, the aeroplane and the car with the working engine and box.  I was rather 'particular' when I was a kid so deffinitely had all the pieces in the boxes with all the instructions etc.  The old dear gave them away with all my starwars stuff too.  I found out when I saw some other kid playing with MY atat in his sand pit.  Little beast.  MY atat should only be used indoors and should be put back in its box after use.  How dare he!

I have alot that's still MIA, need to go through my mums house again and have a look through my dad's too. My mum didn't realise on the value for them as those 2 sets above are about £150 each second hand.
They will be just going in my loft once they are complete though. Ordered 9 missing pieces for £2.02 last night so not expensive.

That looks pretty good. The 8479 it mentions in the second line of the description is the one I built last night.

I wanted that space train so badly as a kid!! Have a load of the space range, 'Blacktron', 'M Tron', 'Space Police' and 'Ice Planet' iirc? but never was allowed the train lol, Think that's a bit newer than the Lego ranges i had.
