Thanks all. Can't call them - their advertized phone is dead or changed.
Call me an idiot but I'm glad its original. I'm working mine back to all original parts. I think thats where the value lies in the furure because this little car is a dead cert future classic - you know one of those low production runs that blows everything that a maker subsequently attempts out of the water - a kind of "how did they do that?" car. I don't think people realize that yet and are still busy modding them and wrecking them on tracks.
Now that cuts me out as an idiot, deffo! But thanks again

well, Citroen made over a million DS's. I remember being driven about by my Dad in a beautiful DS he picked up in about 1983 for around £1000. A good one will now sell for £35,000 whilst the best, most original of them sell for over £100,000!!! 7200 is not a big run.

Well, if you can keep the tub glued together and stop the clams from dissolving, in 25 years time it might actually be an appreciating asset.

I wish you lots of happyness maintaining, polishing and not driving your plastic skip for 30 years, and make lots of money by then.
Meanwhile i'll go rag the tits of it on track and have fun today if you don't mind.

True! But the citroen was a b**stard to keep going even in the 80's - all legendary cars are brutes. You can't get into the engine of a e-type without first making yourself a unique set of long handled bent spanners! Only another 24 3/4 years to go...

The oem exhaust system is made from normal steel and will probably not make it the 30 years you wan to keep it.
In an x amount of years the oem exhausts will probably also no longer be available.
So remove it fully, put it in the attick and put a stainless miltek (almost as silent) in there.

it amuses me how planes were once glued together. From what I've seen, all those planes have been drilled and rivetted. What hope does our little plastic shitbox have?

I bought one second hand... the pipes are made from stainless but it seems the flanges are mild steel...
