I've just fitted a DAB head unit and surprise surprise, the windscreen aerial doesn't do the business. It might not help that I've run a wire off the grounding strip to a suitable earth that I've not found yet, although I have read that not all have had he strip laid onto a metal area. Someone talk to me about the aerial I already have on the car. Can it be used with some kind of powered converter to receive DAB? Anyone have DAB successfully set up in their VX?

I had a DAB radio in my S1, the only aerial i found any good was a small mag mount one about 12" high stuck on the roof or roll bar cover in your case with double sided tape.

I've had a DAB head unit in the car for a few years now. Didn't even bother with the windscreen sticker thing that came with the head unit but replaced the standard aerial with a DAB/FM/AM aerial in the same style as the OEM aerial, like this. Perfect reception all the time (until driving through the Welsh mountains anyway).

Seems like it'd be worth a try; same as fivoclock recommended it looks like!

I bought one of these:

It's taken me all day just to get the old bloody aerial off.

It appears to want two separate power feeds for DAB and FM, as well as the power cable. That's new to me. And I guess I will need to run a dedicated earth too?
