Sad thing about modding is you never get the money back, most of us have loved spending silly money but we love our little cars so it's all worth it. Just make space and sorn it for a special day, gotta be worth more in love to you. Unless the sale is needed for the caravan It's going to be 14k upwards I suspect, which is not bad for a 13 year old vauxhall

You want to buy one exspencive caravan! Price might be a little optimistic but then again, what would the moulding be worth to someone like Jonnyboy? Looking at £2-3k I guess but then again your time and efforts would of added up to much more than that, I'm sure. Not many of us spend a small fortune on these cars, in the hope to make it back come sale. It's just a labour of love and helped by a hefty disposable income.

Mate not being funny (to the op) but your trying to equient (spelling) want you've spent to the value of the car.

Hmmm doesnt work like that, i havent posted on here for a long time but i owned a vx220 turbo many years ago, bought it brand new and within 18 months i was at stage 2.

Car was £24500, i prob spent another 2.5-3 on it, got fed up with the plastic piece of shite and sold it for 21k, its all relative!!

To be honest it was a awesome car but my car now is more awesome :tt:

Gents, sorry to interrupt you but this is a for sale ad in the for sale section. I appreciate the constructive feedback from members (even if it appears to be harsh) but please at least keep it relevant. I am sure that members will find your insightful conversations invaluable, being so informative and eloquent, so please give them the opportunity to follow you elsewhere without my ad getting in the way. Thanks.

I have been the only owner of the car from new and had it as absolutely standard until it went to TMS. They did all mods in 1 hit and the total bill just for the mods was 22K. I have the receipts etc, read the spec and you will see that this makes sense. So this was on top of the cost of the car.

The car cost 27K so doing the complex arithmetic puts the sunk cash as being 49K (without adjusting for inflation etc)

pretty staggering but I suppose if I put it at a pound per mile it was definitely worth it......

20k underpriced?! You are joking?

I didn't want to be the first to say.. :ninja:   Lovely spec undoubtedly, but I think I've seen a VX220 hit the £20k mark about once in years of looking.. Perhaps £14-15k is realistic if you want to sell it - the clam modifications are 'cool', but many might just prefer the standard car if not into tinkering...

IMO I think you're more or less right with the price 14-15k. FYI I sold my stage 4, late 05 reg VX 6 mths ago and it was minter for a little less than 14k despite me spending 22k on it in only 18mths ownership.

Stage four cost you 22k?? Or do you mean including the car? I personally think you under sold your car

No Aimy, 22k all in.

Dear all, just bumping this up and starting properly to sell this time. Will consider offers North of 15k. Will be putting on other forms now. This is a perfect track car for anyone looking although not been on track yet due to time pressure. Also, moulds are no longer coming with car but all originals are and only one carbon seat. (drivers) pm me if interested.

How is the car cosmetically. Is it finished or is there still some touch up work to do?

I would describe it as miscellaneous touch ups. The biggest job is that the roll bar cover needs spraying. The edges of the boot need a rub down and touch up I'm just getting a quote at the mo for getting the bits sorted out.

I am having my annual half hearted go at selling the VX ... again. First the wife wanted it to go... that was 4 years ago and I reluctantly agreed ... now she's recruited the kids... who want a caravan.... History of this post is attached. Car has done small miles since last year.. just monthly run around really. Been kept in workshop... a few interested members have seen and driven so can vouch for it.

I think this year I am happy not to hold out for silly money as I would like to see the car go to someone who doesn't have a side job as a caravan tower!!  If you are interested let me know...Neil 07740 305904
