can I ask the fan wiring plug , is this the 2 wire connector black +  black/green  that plugs to  black  + .blue

if I give black and blue wire 12 volts direct to see if I can start fan working , looking at it through the grill the motor housing for the fan looks stained with rust ( not a good sign ) but thought a bit of lube might help it like wd40

Hi

I am in upper beeding have moderate garage faciltys & can help if required or test out your current fan (pun not intended) are you still running a standard rad, as if clam is coming off you might consider any other jobs/work at the same time.

Fred

that's cool of you to offer , cooling fan cut in last night and ran for about 5 seconds and sounded really bad and just stopped running , no blown fuses

just phoned steeles of Worthing part is located in Germany £176 , they are not franchised for this car so cant order the part .

I have no space to have a car sitting around with no clam on

think I will advertise car as easy winter project

As mentioned front clam off after that it's straightforward but I did find lots of bolts and nuts on my car had rusted solid so my advice is to get a dremmel to cut them off and a replacement bag of washers, nuts and speedclips etc ready to go back on.

106 is perfectly normal. There isn't a switch as such, there is a relay somewhere

ECU (via a relay) triggers the fan based on it's coolant temperature sensor. No separate fan switch.

Bye, Arno.

wow you are a star , I will try and get some quotes during the week for someone to fit .

thought this part would be main dealer only ( £176 ) +vat

they even do a fitting kit to enable it to go back together properly

has any one fitted this fan to there vx220 , just want to know it fits before I order
