kind of surprised Ohlins put their good name on these...

Can you elaborate? Other manufacturer with Ohlins logo?

no, more a case of they were made to a spec (read price).

Ohlins make some very decent stuff, however, these are not it.

quite apart from them being a crap spec (both in terms of design and implementation), the quality is well below Ohlins usual standard.

Mine have been rebuilt three times in 9 years and 45k miles, once by Vauxhall under warranty (no I didn't get that bit of paper), twice by me. I love them.

The ones I had felt very nice but for me shocks should be fit and forget for 10 years or 70 / 80 k miles, I'm hoping my new Zeros do just that and they feel fine. Three rebuilds in 45K is no use whatsoever for me, cost and time off the road when it shouldn't be needed. Suppose it may different on a track car ? .

I have 46mm Nitrons (1-way). So far have been brilliant. I find I don't make too many adjustments to them. I went for 1-way as I feel that being able to set them up correctly would be outside of my talent zone (not saying that's the case with you, just my reasoning for why I bought them).

Sounds like you´re very happy with them. I believe that will be the factor for me as well, set them up and then don´t fiddle around  .

Think these Ohlins shocks from UKLC are on Ebay for several moths now. Makes you wonder why they're not snapped-up earlier for that price...

That does make you think twice, thanks for the heads up.

The car is focused as a trackday car so a service every other winter is fine by me. But don´t want to end up buying them and then spend 140£x4 immediately...

The service cost is ~100£ here in Sweden. Unfortunately uklc stopped responding on my mails when I asked for part numbers, more pictures, where they come from and such.

So Nitron it is then...
