Hello,

I’m looking for a VX220 for a TV feature on WEDNESDAY 29TH OCTOBER in the Midlands.

Fuel & catering will be provided for the day. If you are interested in bringing your car along for the day, please contact me with your vehicle details, location & some photos at fifth.gear (at) northonetv.com

I’m also interested in finding out any problems anyone has had with this car/any high running costs?

Thanks in advance!

Sounds exciting, would be great to have a forum car featured on the show.

There are lots of race-tuned examples floating around here, I presume that you would be looking for a stock example? It might also help to specify whether you are looking for a Turbo or NA variant.

Good luck!

Problems and high running costs? Wouldn't be a negative feature would it?

Midlands - Turbobob's would be ideal (though you'd have to Photoshop the colour) or a standard car like Wolfstone's would be ideal. Big expenses on a vx only really occur at meets / track days when new owners meet those with modded cars.

LOL, lets hope not ! Can't be easy to find an untouched original VX220 these days.

It's probably Jonny Smith's buyers guide thing. They're probably doing a feature on buying a secondhand Ferrari and using the VX as a budget equivalent for the skint amongst us.

Potato doesn't like 'em or the Velise chassis and no way I'd let Tiff do his drift king impression in my car, even if it fulfilled the "standard" brief. VBH or nothing. Maybe someone should point Iceman in the direction of this thread.....

I'm sure they'll want a standard version which will rule out 95% of .org (as 94% have TD's) :P

Strange though, after years of no attention the VX suddenly has become printworthy. 4 successful years in motorsport across time attack and team / track trophy (JJJ, Cliffie and 5oC)5oas something I thought would always help reputation.

Please make sure you're sending emails to fifth.gear@northonetv.com if you're interested.

We are looking for as standard as possible.

Many thanks.

Youre only saying that so you can either a) sniff the seat or b.) sniff the seat and then sell it for loads

Sadly, I'm out on account of trick wheels and tyres, trick suspension, trick brakes and double the standard power. Not to mention hating 5th Gear.   :(

Though I do have a spare pair of seats that I'm happy to lend out, if needed. :D

Mine would probably fit the bill, but they would have to pay me for lost earnings if I took the day off...
