I know this has been done before but I couldn't find a good comparison of them all together.

Current options seems to be:-

Source              / Each / x4

Ebay                  / £42 / £171

Elise Shop        / £79 / £314

Elise Parts        / £90 / £360

Seriosly Lotus / £108 / £432

The seriously Lotus bearings are OE quality SKF bearings so obviously the best but  are the ES or EP bearings of similar quality? Are they worth the extra over the eBay jobbies?

Note:- I've got the hub nuts on the front of my NA so could deal with taper bearings better than the later vx's (as discussed by Arno here:- http://www.vx220.org...earings/page-2)

:yeahthat:

Autovaux are OK too.  If you have the ducatti senna brake cooling ducts the be careful as some hubs don't fit the cutout.

Thanks. I'll avoid the eBay ones. Any experience of the others listed? If there's nothing between them I may as well go for the elise-shop ones and save a few £?

Google for 'VKBA 3513' in the UK and you'll get quite a few..

Looaaaads to choose from :)

Genuine SKF ones will be fine in any case.

SKF kits come as a complete set with new castellated nuts for the driveshaft and hub connection bolts.

The included bolts are usually too long for use on the VX (re-use the originals), but the rest is usable.

Bye, Arno.

Whereabouts are you? If they are on general offer I'd take them off your hands please; mine are whining a bit.

I replaced all 4 of mine from Euro Car parts, i think they were £45ish each, and made by Lucas. Cant give feedback on longevity, as only had them on the car <6months.

word of warning on SKF

the market is awash with fake SKF bearings...

if they are cheap, then they are likely not genuine SKF.

This has got so bad with some bearings that even the legitimate supply trade has been infiltrated.

Well after the neighbours called social services and I had to explain BDSM, we've laid off the beatings for a while. Bloody fifty shades of grey has a lot to answer for!

The bearings are perfect and have taken all the abuse I can throw at them. I need one for the front now so will be ordering the same.

That's good to know, I hear you put your car through it's paces so if they work for you they should be good.
