Just had my GGP2s replaced under the recall. Absolutely first class customer service from Gaz; Exactly how all customer service should be like

I agree with p4cks, The way Gaz handled whatever issue there was with their dampers and the very speedy supply of replacements was first class. I hadn't noticed any issues with the performance of my old units and they looked in good condition when I removed & inspected them. I sent them back to GAZ and within a couple of days they had sent a set of brand new updated replacement units. The new dampers fit the correct way up, with the rebound adjustment button at the bottom. (Opposite to my old units). They were very easy to set up & I believe operate better than my originals. I'm very pleased to have a new set for only the cost of postage (£16). Sol.

I had my Golds returned a couple of months ago, post-rebuild. Not sure if the last owner had squeaking but I don't now.

Yeah mine squeak. The replacements don't squeak nearly as much as the old ones like!

Just had confirmation that my set of GGP2 that I paid £100 back in January to have upgraded from GGP to GGP2, will be included in the recall... I asked for a refund of my £100 and was told no. So, had I not paid £100, they would have been upgraded now to GGP2 as part of the recall, but because I paid (within the warranty period I add) the £100 back in Jan out of choice, it doesn't get refunded. So like many others, now I've got to take them off and ship them off (at my cost) for something which may or may not be an issue.

Doesn't sound like the usual famed Gaz customer service? I thought that was the only thing they had going for them...

I've just had mine back.  Sent off an old set of GGP's and got a nice new set of GGP2's after just a few days.  Amazing.

Going to Gaz on friday to see them about my shocks. Will keep you updated.

Shouldn't mods make this a sticky in the main forum, just in case anyone misses it and ends up in an accident because of a broken shock?

Just an update as I forgot,

Went to GAZ and got a new set with new spring fitted in the cold!

Had a little tour of the premises which was nice, changed the spring rates too as the old rear ones were something like 475 lb!

Will post up some pictures once I get them off my phone, suspension much more comfy now and progressive than before!
