I know the common consensus is 260bhp as being the most you can safely run with standard internals on a supercharged Z22SE but I just wondered if anyone is running more, reliably and on track.

I would not go past 250bhp IMHO Batman went over that, worked for a while then go very expensive, what would you prefer slightly less power for a long time or a lot for a short space of time. I ran 242 for a few years no problem. ask yourself " Do you feel lucky punk" ps for the younger members if from a film.......

I've been at 261 for the last 2years, no issues. Several track days including Spa. I CBA to chase more power though, noise is a bit of an issue and I don't want to take the block apart.

Hence the original question about reliability on track. And yes, I'm of a vintage to remember Dirty Harry :)

Is that 261 rolling roaded?

So 280-290 at the piston, which is the limit for a stock bottom end

I would find reliability more alluring than more power once the SC is done :D

I've never heard anyone with a highly tuned car at the end of it say anything other than they preferred it standard or near standard lol

Denial based on the quantity of cash spent.

If you want to reduce some power I added about (+) 0.71 deg across Rev range from 100kpa There is no need to reduce all of it again to reduce power just in Rev range where power is to high (If your worried) Reduce by (-31) at higher bhp figures Did you get accurate wheel/tire circumference, weather conditions, weight etc

people seem to spin bearings more often than bend rods

something as a driver you do have control over is revs , a long stroke 95mm gets a bit grumpy in an exponential manner at high rpm.
