Pearl yellow supercharged VX, pearl? 2001. Definitely not mine, but looks good, sounds reasonably priced? Not much info whether cat or not?

It's the one that ended up rolling on the motorway:

http://www.vx220.org...-tree-and-roll/

(DY51 VXO - you can see the rear reg is DY51)

Damaged crash box, damaged subframe, both clams damaged.

It's a lot of work to rebuild the car, so I wonder if the advert is a scam?

Then there's a damn good reason for helping prospective buyers, by bringing these to there attention, if they ever get on here 1st? I mean, I had a phobia of asking questions before I bought mine, hope no other newbies aren't? Just used your link Fez, I do remember this thread, that could be potentially the same car, OMG!

I'd say the seller is MVS/Davrianmk8... As per the seller of acidpornstars rad surround..... Car is listed as location Lampeter and the location in the eBay ad linked in Neil's thread is Lampeter too. Co-inky-dents? ;) unlikely.

Looking at the state of that car from the link & this sale price, Surely there can't be many £notes being made; has it really been worthwhile, especially if they are hiding the facts?

Crazy. Actually looks ok in the advert pics.

Which means a newbie could very easily be taken in by it..

So I'm buying a second hand rad surround? It says made to order in the ad. Acidpornstar... I like it :)

New crashbox, new subframe and new clams. A Vx having these parts replaced doesn't mean the end of the world guys, but misleading someone and saying it hasn't been crashed when it has is.

No, what I mean is that these guys make their own parts, so a rebuild is cheaper than someone who has to buy the parts..

How on earth that would have been a cat c I dont know, the rear subframe looks like it was shunted forward by about 6" on one side, I cant really see the tub surviving that hit on the corner, I mean what could you gain from it all, cost of parts ect, you would never get half of it back, unless........ wheeler dealers!!!, cost of car, cost of parts, "we made a nice little profit there edd", theres edd, all pissed off because hes done it all for free again, but seriously looking at the plate in the ad, it looks like to me a "y" after 51, but I am using my phone, so maybe its me, I did go and look at a Lanchester once with my dad as hes into all the old stuff, it was a 50s drophead coupe, rare one, in car and classic, they wanted top price, we get there and the tops down, like all the pics, ask to put it up, the answer was that it was new so still tight to fit, oh yeah tight all right, try 3" short one side, quick measure up of opening, it was 3" shorter one side of the car to another, to look at it, it all looked square, straight ect, it still shows up every so often for sale, the garage still has it, that was 6 years ago, so it just goes to show how careful you have to be buying cars.

The engine bay is exactly the same, down to the use of the Toyota header tank for the charge cooler. Yes the interior is a different colour, however this car spent a while in a breakers with the roof off. It would have needed attention regardless. As I stated, I have asked for confirmation. We will see.

Can't see the blue seats from the pics of the crashed one? There is blue silicone hosing on the SC intake of both though which would suggest more than just a coincidence. Guess we'll find out when Fez gets a response. No way I'd go near that one if it is.

The price is far too low which suggests issues, even if it isn't the same car as above it is still A LOT of car for the money... too much car for the money.

if you look close enough you can see where the rear bootlid hinges have been glued back on to the bulkhead, they were ripped off in the accident, so yes it's the same car.

And the crack below the left hand hinge is in an identical place if you have any doubts  :P
