Hey all, The previous owner put an egr cheat on my car... It didn't look like it was wired very nicely, so I started to re do it today. Upon taking it apart, I found a bit that I don't quite understand, so was wondering if someone can explain to me how they work and if mine is right? The parts I have are: - blank plate over where the valve normally sits - some kind of chip plugged into the block/loom, where I guess it would have plugged into the egr before - a small black box the plugs into the wire that should be plugged into the induction pipe that leads to the air box... Looks like air flow sensor? The last one of the three parts is the bit I don't understand, as it is literally two wires that are moulded into a lump of plastic, there is no circuitry there? So, my questions are: 1. Is that plastic box a part of the cheat? 2. Does it do anything? 3. Is that wire suppose to be unplugged from the induction piping? Look forward to having this cleared up for me! Thanks, Jonny

I seem to recall that the air intake sensor had one of those stupid ebay +20bhp 'specials' attached, remove it  :P

Haha I did wonder if it might be a special boy modification lol! I'll give it a try with it plugged back in and see if it drives any differently :)

It'll make it run rich by tricking the ecu into thinking its cold. It's a trick some of the test labs we use do to soot oils more.
