I have a Turbo and its time to upgrade the exhaust. What is my options if I want a full 3" system including decat? 2bular seems to be a good option but is there any other manufactures worth naming?

Tullet, 2bular or commission a custom one... I think they are all of the options. Tullet are loudish 2bular are not too loud Custom are whatever you specify thumbsup

I'm going with Tullett on the basis that I can actually get hold of them.

Tullet has been fine for me for a few years now - running 300bhp. Not particularly noisy.

I've gone from a 2.5" milltek to a 3" 2bular and the 2bular isn't a loud exhaust

How far along is Dave Hardwick with his exhaust?

That's what I'll be after on my next exhaust change

Dave can do you an exhaust now no problems. The only thing waiting is for me to do more TDs on sub 98db days to get a better feel for noise levels for SC 3inch. No other full SC 3inch system will get you on a quiet TD either so you're no worse off with a DH exhaust if you stick with the 100db+ days. (which a lot of full 3 inch exhaust people need to do) Static tests up to redline it's as quiet as a NA Milltek across the RPM range and 3db less @ 3k where the nasty SC drone kicks in :) If you don't track days then nothing to worry about If you have a turbo and TDs nothing to worry about either they're inherently quiet.

Dave Hardwick does good stuff, but no offence, Bargis has an 'interesting' exit option, might be worth seeing what he'll do in case that's the norm.

Dave will do a conventional twin outlet. Or at least he said he would when I asked him about it.

And back in Dec, he also mentioned he really wanted to do more testing with Bargi's exhaust before making them available for general sale. Especially if people are planning on running MAPs with flames etc.

All that said, I have seen pictures of my new exhaust today. If it all fits and works, then it may be another 3-inch alternative. Not sure how long it will take for testing etc, and whether it will be offered for general sale but will update as and when.

Is Dave Hardwicks the quietest available ? Will I ever be able to get under 90db ? What would happen if I put the standard exhaust back on for the quiet track apart from loss of power ? Will a 2bular get you round bedford ? Car is NA SC

you'd be lucky to get under 90db with a standard exhaust :D

How much power do you have or expect to run?

Up to 300 2.5 is fine

Up to 250-260 I ran a NA Miltek and standard manifold fine

You can run a 3inch system for Bedford, you'll just need a DB reducer or two (depending on how many exhaust outlets you have)

Lee and MartinS have both made it on with reducers

On standard exhaust with precat removed its 88db at 247bhp New engine was running 300bhp on a 2.5 inch tullett exhaust I know I need a new exhaust but local tracks are thruxton and castle Combe, don't mind swapping exhausts for these tracks but which 3" is quietest, Read so many threads now confused, Thought it was going to be 2.5" tullet manifold and cat with standard turbo box would be quietest and should still get 300bhp or have I read that wrong

Should mention new engine isn't in the car yet and I didn't get the exhaust with it

To get on at Bedford I don't think my recucer alone would do it so also swapped my open cone filter for a vm700 piper enclosed one. When that's fitted my car sounds so very quiet.
