And so it starts.

 

Motorsport in the Cantelo household once again rears its expensive head but this time the nomex boots are a lot smaller. For those who don't know, I have a soon to be seven year old son called Ollie (many will have known him since he was two as he has been known to do the odd VX event) who, through no prompting from me, said "Daddy, I want to drive a go-kart".

 

What could I do???

Here he is in his suit. Reminds me a bit of Jacques Villeneuve in his race suit. This is as small as they make em.

Just wait until you get asked to go on a free test day at a certain place by a certain ex f1 driver normally Alan mcnicsh who gets your heart set on a drive ( and your son ) and then he tells you it will only cost you 80k a year to be part of there team It's quite common even at entry level kids karting And unfortunately it's the only way to get anywhere but never a guarantee

It's really is great at club level MBKC is a great club but might be a bit far from you

 Enjoy it Mike. My kids never took an interest in cars even growing up with me always being into them. Even in their twenties now although they both can drive they are not bothered about driving. They both shared my interest in music though so we used that to bond

So it was the birthday surprise yesterday and trust me, for Ollie, this is excited.

Did you also buy yourself a 'Daddy' kart and appropriate communication tools... If not, then you will have to advise that it is important safety equipment to keep Ollie safe
