Just an update for anyone thinking of doing one of these days.
Turned up at Bedford and due to work they were using the 2.4 se? track layout, This actually I preferred to the full GT, shorter but more technical. Weather was cold but dry, Open Track ran the day, very well managed and it wasn't over subscribed. The BMW was the car of choice, Adriano was the instructor started off nice and slow getting used to the track, Turned the wick up as I got used to the car and circuit, all I can say it Adriano as a instructor was superb, he gave just the right amount of verbal tuition to get me to run the right lines, then as time went on let me get on with it and only added extra instruction when appropriate. I used to instruct myself and first class is all I can say there.
Did 15-20 mins max as it all you can take in one go while continuing to learn, breaks for debrief and drinks continued throughout the day. For me I ended up being considerably quicker at the end of the day than at the start, working the car to somewhere near it's limit and loved giving a number of quicker cars a good run for their money. :-)
Matt supplied the BMW, well equipped and Evernote comes with a heater, which my VX doesn't, it comes with everything supplied, this really let's you just get on with the driving and took all the hassle/worry away from me. Best way to do this IMHO
So if you are thinking about doing one of these, DO IT. I will be continuing and doing my ARDS.
Thanks Matt, Adriano
