Hi there newbie to the VX220 world.

I have just bought a VX220 to use as a track car. The plan is my friend and I co-own the car to split the bills and the fun.

We have 4 weeks to get the car ready for a week of European track days so any help and advice would be greatly appreciated. We are in Yorkshire, Sherburn in Elmet and look forward to meeting up with other owners.

We are both Grinnall Scorpion owners but we are crossing from 3 wheels to 4 for some track day fun.

There are a few things on the car that need some TLC but we are looking forward to tinkering with it.

Is there a techie in the Yorkshire area we can call on if we get stuck?

Welcome. Phoenix in Accrington are very good and know VX's well. If it's a general query ask on here or drop Jonnyboy a PM as he owns one and is Mike brewer in disguise

Welcome,

I'm in Wakefield so just down the road although I'm a newbie myself. I can recommend both Phoenix and Jonnyboy on here from experience. Jonnyboy is worth a visit, and if you pop into his garage in Castleford soon, you'll probably see my VX220 there along with another member's VX. Top bloke. Phoenix are long-term experts in Elise/VX220's and full of great advice, especially if you're looking to track it. Neil (Acidpopstar) on here is from Yorkshire too and gave me some great advice too in getting my car trackday ready, I can share that with you if you feel it would be helpful = PM me... or Neil :)

Did not know there was a VX owner at Croft circuit sizten... that's probably my favourite motor racing circuit in the UK!

Castleford!!! That's great I live only about 5 miles from Castleford. Do you have the details of the garage?

Hope we can meet up when we get our new toys sorted.

Send him a PM on here and introduce yourself, he's just of the Methley Road on the way into Castleford, definitely worth introducing yourself and popping in. I'd also strongly recommend Phoenix Motorsport, they're fantastic.

It's been sold so it won't be seen by many of us in the UK

Cheers Kieran I wondered who'd passed my details on. Accidental specialist lol 2 pretty big VX projects ongoing and a couple of other little bits booked in for later in the week just from recommendation. One guy is bringing on an Elise I advised him on buying from someone else which is nice.
