Dont think so. When I plug the battery in and connect it up....I dont even get the interior light! All terminals cleaned and just tried to use my other car a jump and nothing. So frustrating!

Time to get the mulitmeter out, but i reckon its probably something as simple as dodgy connections. You need a new battery (jump leads often don't work properly) and the vx seems particularly sensitive to having a very good connection (so bolts on connectors done up tight)

Does anyone want to buy a heap of plastic and metal? So, new relays installed, new battery bought, all fuses and big red ones triple checked........ Car is alive, finally dash lights, push the button......turns over but doesnt fire. When the 1st click of the key is done....no fuel pump whire? checked and pressed in and out the cut off switch multiple times. I have searched a million posts on here the only thing i havent changed currently is the brown relay. After the threads i am left with these options : Ecu Fuel pump itself The car was running fine before it stuttered, turned off and i found the relays assuming it was thoses. Turns out...... Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelllllllllllllllllllllllpppppppppppppppppppppp!!!!!!!

link out the brown relay for a quick test, the live is the Brown (3mm) and the two circuits supplied have the Brown (2mm) and the Brown/Pink (2mm) wires

I had an ECU disconnect. Meant fuel pump whine, but just a click when turned engine. Ended up changing ECU as had corroded connectors. Expensive and undoes any re map But car starts!

The ECU is all connected up, i unclipped and reconnected it to be sure. Not sure whether i linked the wire correctly on the brown relay as vocky says but still no fuel pump. The pump was working fine before the issue with the relays so it must be something electrical. Bloody car clearly does not want to go back on the road!!!

This is what I did to "hotwire" my pump when I wanted to drain the tank. Worked a treat.

ok, try this   Remove these relays and connect following pins to eachother in the relay holders Relay K16 (grey one on my car) - pin 1 - Brown/Grey Relay K18 (brown one on my car) - pin 3 - Brown (the one with 2x brown wires, one small, one large)   This should get +12v to the pump, the 0v is always connected

get a volt meter and start measuring where the power goes up to and then we can figure out why it's not completing the circuit  thumbsup

The fact it stuttered sounds suspiciously like mine did when it broke - I'm in the process of getting a new ECU programmed. - Can you connect a fault code reader to it and get it to talk to the car? - Does the EML light up when you turn the ignition on? If the answer is no to both of the above, the only other option is to check your switched and permanent lives, and your earths to the ECU. If they're good, it's likely your ECU has given up the ghost

And if it has, I may have a working spare ECU I'd be willing to sell.
