Yes it was mine, couldn't remember where I put it down, well actually thought I had left it in my car. Didn't notice until I got home.

If you're in desperate need of it let me know and I'll get it to you straight away, otherwise I can just hold on to it till I see you next.

Hi, sorry not posted on here much but saw this post and thought I'd ask some locals. I was there on the 20th with a red mx5 turbo, looking at moving to a vx220 as a track / weekend car, maybe do 5-6 trackdays a year. The mx5 has about 210bhp (1060kg) at the moment and is fairly well sorted on track as well as useable on the road. Reason I want to change is I don't use it enough as can't really visit clients in what looks like a slightly shonky old mx5 :). I don't mind a raw car for everyday, used to ride a bike all year round anything with a roof is practical. So question is are vx220 turbos reliable on track, I know everyone says get an na for track work but I would sacrificing a lot of power and feel the turbo would be a good replacement for the mx5, any good threads I can look at, done a bit of searching but one persons "hard" track use is another persons warm up lap. Also wondering if anyone willing to take me out for spin some time? Cheers

I was there on 20th although not in my car.

Very hard to say if a car is reliable or not on track. It all comes down to the condition of the car and how it's been maintained. The VX is very suited to track work in general, no real difference between NA and turbo in terms of reliability. For me it's the perfect car you can drive to the track, abuse all day long then drive home again. Just comes down to how you like your power delivered. Mine was NA and is now supercharged to around 250bhp.

There's a million and one threads on here just keep searching. And search youtube for vids of VXs on track. Not really sure what information you are after but as you say, the best bet is to get a ride with someone. Welcome to come out in mine once I've finished working on it. I'm in sunny Saltburn.

Was it the one with the black boot lid?

Ahem^^^, and don't go out with Neil, that guy is nuts :P

There's a few of us around the area, my mates share an MX5 for track days, they do a lot so I tend to end up at Croft quite often with them. Putting mine back on the road very soon too.
