12 January 2015 Australian Grand Prix organisers have made clear that the start time of the race will not be altered in 2015, despite a safety recommendation from the FIA. The 10-member panel formed to investigate Jules Bianchi's accident at last year's Japanese Grand Prix suggested a start time cut-off point excluding night races. "It is proposed that a regulation or guideline be established such that the start time of an event shall not be less than four hours before either sunset or dusk," read a section of the report. But Australian Grand Prix chief executive Andrew Westacott has clarified that the Melbourne race will retain its 17:00 local time start. "The race time will remain at 5pm as per agreement with the Australian Grand Prix Corporation and Formula One management, which means Melbourne, as the opening race of the season, airs in Asia at lunchtime and Europe at breakfast," Westacott is quoted by Australia's Herald Sun newspaper.

A bit worrying that Magnussen should also bin the McLaren due to unexpected behaviour?

That four engine limit is nuts. By half way through the season, they'll all be running at 60% power to try and preserve them, instead of copping a grid penalty every other race.

probably better to take the penalty, esp at the more open tracks.
