Anybody have any experience of these - http://www.regelin-p...html?opt={18}50 At £80 odd including delivery they must be worth a punt if they don't tear?

Search ebay for generic anti vibration mounts to get them for cheaps.

Like this (only bigger)

http://www.ebay.co.u...=item2c927b10ed

Just measured, and oem is 65mm high (the damping part), thread is M10, and both sides thread sticks out 25mm.

Don't trust those at all, same design couldn't even hold my ABS pump or airbox in place. I wouldn't want them to look after an engine.

If I had to change my engine mounts again, I would move to VibraTechnics. They're more expensive, but I can't imagine needing to change them ever again.

Edit: VX220 parts sell them for £101 ea.

I understand the waryness, but Regelin is considered an authority in speedster germany, and there have been no complaints on these yet. (well at least not online)

The key question here being how generic, or how special they are.

No way will those generic bobbins be up to the job. They can't even space/support the diffuser for more than a handful of miles. The rubber they use is nowhere near hard enough and I doubt the metal end plates can support enough weight without being deformed and pressed into the rubber.

ETA: That's not a comment on Regelin's mounts which may or may not be spot on.

What's the Shore number on the OEM mounts?

You hear the verdict Miles.

Please buy one from Regelin, and cut it open so we can see the unicorn magic inside

Regelin mounts it is then. I have a set of the Powerflex front and rear inserts to fit at the same time, which may or may not be perceived as cheating!

Regelin mounts it is then.

Probably fit better than the VibraTechnics ones do, anyway.

Right !

I had to blend out an area of the alloy hat otherwise i would have introduce nasty preloads in the LHS fitting.

Mine is a NA but on Turbo car check the RHS.

Has anyone discussed this with VibraTechnics? I assume they are milled in small batches, so should be very little work to modify the design.

I've been told that they now provide large washers (one per side) to have a gap between the fitting and the mount.

So it seems that they are aware .

just fit the uprated inserts to the front and rear mounts, then add a pair of standard side mounts and never worry about them again  thumbsup

I can vouch for this, the noise of a tat diffuser hitting and then scraping along Tarmac at some mph will stick with me for a while!

Sounds hellish Luke. Were they the same as the Regelin items I linked to?

Not quite they were a male/female version if the eBay link below yours. I guess they would work much better under compression than tension as they are far less likely to shear like mine did. Those regelin ones are massive though, they've got a pretty good reputation for speedster stuff so I can't imagine there would be an issue with them.
