So I'm close to strapping my car onto a rolling road (or rather MBR is) and although I have wheels for the project they're about to be refurbished and I need to select some tyres for them... so I could do with borrowing/renting a set of spare wheels and tyres off someone if they could be so kind?

Happy to come collect etc, I'll make the process as easy as possible for anyone willing to help. Would be ideal if the tyres are decent (as in tread, not necessarily in need of some R888s or Yokos or whatever) so that we can get the car mapped properly. They'll just be used on a rolling road, as car will be trailered everywhere so shouldn't be much if any wear to them.

Let me know if you can help out - much appreciated

G

When do you need them? I should have a spare set again at the end of the week when they get back from being refurb'd.

Hi Matt,

I suspect end of the week would be fine (though I want the car mapped ASAP I won't be surprised if it's not until next week). Are you offering your refurbed set (I hope not, as that would be me taking the p*ss) or the spare set you'll have when you have your refurbed set back?

Much appreciated. When would you need them back by? Depending on what I get offered closer they might be perfect. Could probably collect at weekend if that would suit.

Graeme - Sorry to go off topic (no, really) but I am really looking forward to seeing your costs spreadsheet printed on here once MBR have finished your car. Unless you have some payment in kind type-arrangement going on it will make Greece's national debt pale by comparison.

Ha you think I'm going to commit my costs to type? On the Internet for all to see

Pre bodywork and interior, it will be something starting with a 2 and followed by four zeros, or other numbers (incl buying donor)...

That a good enough breakdown for you Steve?

I'm under no illusions this has been or will be a cheap project, but I still look at it and think overall it could offer decent value in the end. As long as it's good as the dream I've been sold.

Ok so quick bump, I just need a pair of rears as the car has suitable fronts on it for now. Could really do with picking them up either tonight or tomorrow really. If anyone has any close by (so far closest offer is Sticky in St Albans) that woudl be great.

Ken,

thanks mate - cracking offer. If I can't grab Nick's on my way home tonight - and on my way to Lees - then I may very well take you up on that offer. Have a Toyota GT86 tonight as well, so would be rude not to visit MK in it!
