Don't peak too soon. It's not out for another 8 months.

I thought Chewy had aged well

I was very excited last night :D even forced the Mrs to watch both trailers. Still didn't care :(

Flying the Falcon into the engine of a super star destroyer!

I think chewy was about 200 in the first 3 films so what's an extra 40 years.

Will it be another let down like 1,2 and 3 tho? (Although 3 was ok, I really hope not) but it's not easy loving the original 3, made how they were then the newer ones (older ones) with the modern technology, not enough makes it from the early films for my liking...... am I thinking too much and should just take it for what it is? At least this one is after the originals and not before, should be easier to watch?

I like SciFi. A new hope, empire strikes back and return of the Jedi are ok movies IMO. After that the scripts and directing get bonkers.

What's Star Wars?

Disney buying the rights for a 38 year old movie for 2.5 billion pounds, and now want their money back by rehashing it into 3D stuff and merchadise.

Star Wars, as much as I love it, is all about the mechandise..! Hence a good few of us grew up playing with Princess Leia, Bobba Fett and an Imperial Guard in some strange ménage a trois, and seeing how much sand / dirt your AT-AT could physically hold.. It's a pity as kids won't experience that now - they'll just get the game rather than the toys.. So that's the sentimental bit done - I found myself slightly aroused by this latest trailer, mostly because it showed all the right old school ships, and made all the right noises.. Agree that JJ has (despite a bit too much lens flare) did put the spring back into Star Trek films step - they'd become a bit too serious and pandering to the fans, as did the last three Star Wars prequels. Tbh, he only has not not f*ck up the original formula and these will be awesome movies for any sci-fi fan..

well.... I kinda disagree, the new star trek films are good sci-fi films but are not Star trek. So it does worry me a tad...

on the flip side he has said that he is a massive star wars fan so I would hope that he is not going to fcuk it up..

Exactly that. It seems these day by saying you're 'rebooting' the genre its just an excuse to pick all the bits out of the old franchise you like and f**k about with / change the rest if it doesn't fit your vision. I hated the new star trek because it was just a scifi film for the younger generation tacked onto the star trek name. The back story about all the characters meeting was just annoying. Crap acting and a ton of cgi...that'll do nicely !
