Out of curiosity, can you not spin the system around to get rid of the first long pipe in the system? Would mean the first u bend wouldn't be that tight then? Or is this needed for peak noise thingy majigs?

:yeahthat: :poke:

Nail......head. The latest version comes out the downpipe then right (standing at the back of the car looking forward) then into the first silencer. Means the whole system can come down and forward leaving space for the std heat shield and clam if people are still running it.

at that price why wouldn't you just go for a full 3" tullet inc manifold? it has repackable silencers with the high temp filling stuff, it lasts ages and wont be a problem for a high powered cars so its an upgrade you only have to do once.. and then if you are slightly too noisey on a drive by fit the noise reducer. i think i am about 100db on static at 5.5k with no reducer.

Pretty much said that to everyone who asked me for a quieter system. Actually I told them to just run a 2.5" system as I don't think it is actually that much of a restriction.   Made this system as everyone came back saying they couldn't get the tullet system quite enough for long enough.

Indeed. If we could've run a harrop on 2.5inch system without deliberately restricting power then I would have. Convention suggests 3inch needed minimum. Hence this exhaust. Matt was all for 2.5 inch. That's what the Hondas run

yes mine does.. but any cat you get will be destroyed unless its a HJS one (for the high powered lads anyway)

Not got a price from tullet have you lately? I just paid £609 for a 3" mani last month. The rest comes out more than the price of this system!

well no, i got a full 3" system with HJS cat for £1800 i think it was, and the cat was £475 on its own.

I'd have one in a 2.5 but why is the rear box not much much larger? there is plenty more space in there than the one in the picture would fill.

The prices of these systems still make my eyes water.

I'll get around to jigging one, one day.

Got a mid section silencer and all the bends/flexi coupling for my 2.5 system here https://www.clampcouk.co.uk/ Not big bucks and good quality , may not fit the bill for guaranteed db but useful for self built systems Jim

Yep, using flowmaster silencers. Was looking to create a coned section(s) inside a traditional type silencer and starting looking as making then we I found flowmaster already created them so much easier to buy straight off the shelf.

Any update at all on drive-by noise testing?

I'm a couple of days away from buying a full 3" Tullett and looking at viable alternatives because noise is a real concern for me.

And just to clarify - you've designed this to mate to the Tullett 3" manifold?
