I'm sure over the past 6 years I've seen something on here about low angle ramps, doing a search does come up with anything in particular however I was curious if anyone has purchased or produced any low angle ramps to work on there vx when theres no need to jack up. If i recall some people had made steps out of lengths of wood to achieve this?

I've still got a set of extended wooden ramps I made for the VX years ago. I've also got a set of nice shiny ProAlloy ramps. Either option only raises the VX about 4" though, which is just enough clearance for one of my many exhaust swaps.

I bought these - work fine for me doing the various underneath jobs at the back of the car.

Race Ramps are what you want.
Hopefully, there'll be some on offer at Stoneleigh this weekend.

It's always a possibility but I'll probably just do my usual and buy a feck load of tools and gadgets and god knows what else, like I do every year.

I've got a pair of the manual ones. Well constructed and heavy...wish I had the money for the air or hydraulic lifts.
Anyway use a hand air motor with a socket extension, works quite well...speeds up the 'forever' hand cranking.

I made some pikey ones out of some loft boards i had leftover.. think it's 4 or 5 different lengths stacked on top of each other to make the ramp. Bit heavy though

That's exactly what I did. Heavy as fcuk so usually just resort to the jack and concrete blocks.

Yep, what I do... got 8 concrete blocks for either 1 or 2 under each wheel.

It only takes 5 minutes to jack it up and stick axle stands underneath....
Plus you then have the option to remove the wheels (something I always do anyway)

I really need to learn how to jack mine up and where to put the axle stands

Made some long planks that give me 6" of extra clearance last night which is great as i can sort the rattle on the undertray after work, its essentially for when i need to do some work when i'm in the garage and i really struggle with space/old age and my back
