So I spent the last 3 to 4 days hankering after the sound of a V8.

Even reading about fake-sounds-thru-stereo-system-jiggery-pokery (Clio, M5, etc. etc)

Til a friend of mine reminded me what the problem is today.

It was one of those 'shall I floor it? shall I not? Oh go on then.. ' moments.

He was behind me, until we pulled up to some lights.

Windows down moment; "it sounds fantastic (or some such word)!" he said.

That's when it struck me  :excl:

The problem is not the sound, it's the fact that it's way behind me.

Especially with my right foot to floor.

My wife tells me she can her me coming from a mile away

So the question.

Apart from moving to somewhere with lots of tunnels: has anyone found any good ways of enhancing the aural pleasures available?

Ok, when my exhaust needs replacing that's a goer but: have you both had Larini & Miltek systems?

And no-one has ever said the car sounds rubbish, so I'm thinking hearing it is the issue.

The bigger plenum give a tiny bit more noise, bit more of a throaty sound when you accelerate.

if you want to get an asbo and be banned from town centres then get a larini. Your wife is telling fibs if she reckons your miltek is noisy - unless it's blowing lol

Seriously, buy yourself an Apexi air filter. One of the best mods I ever carried out.

Sounds bloody awesome. Job done!

And mine is in the same specification to yours....

Regards,

Jon
