My side engine mounts need replacing.  The front/rears have never been replaced (95k on car).  Is it prudent to replace the front/rears at this mileage anyway, or do they last forever?

I don't want poly bushes etc., just standard replacement.

its probably wise to if they are cheap enough... but probably not vital if you aren't doing lots of emergency starts

Poly bushes were lovely on my car, transformed it. Don't make it vibrate too much...

Really?  Qualify 'too much'?  This is my daily drive.  I sit in traffic alot.  I don't want new teeth.  I rarely do emergency starts

Got them in mine. Initially, they did vibrate quite a bit. Annoyingly so. But settled down fairly quickly...

I have had them fitted and at low revs, ie pulling away using less than 2k revs it does vibrate a bit. They have only been in for about 30 miles so far though!

Front engine? The engine is in the back. Anyway, take undertray off, get underneath and you can't miss it.

in retrospect having fitted vibratechnics, I would not. Stick with the OEM ones.

Steve, can you elaborate on why? Do you have the road or race spec ones?

Given that there is no consensus on this one, think I'll play it safe and stick to OEM.  I've fitted the side mounts before no problem.  Are the front/rear mounts an easy replace?

I now get noticeable gearbox chatter when coasting , road spec afaik I could try swap back just the gearbox side to oem to verify

Hi All,

Can't seem to find a sticky for the front/rear mount replacement.  Does anyone have a guide?  Ta.

If I buy these,

are they just a quick straight swap, or do I have to press them out/in?  Ta.

They fit into their carrier bracket like so..

Not sure if that is a tight interference fit or what?

If it were me I'd leave them alone as failures seem ultra rare - just replace in rare event any fail.

Same as Astra mounts, might be able to get them pre fitted and swap the whole assembly over There isn't a guide as they aren't common and no one has bothered lol I'll see if I still have the spare metalwork for one mount in the mancave
