Hi Everyone,

 

Here for sale is my Silver VX220 NA with 69,500 miles and a few extras.

Its located in Devon nr. Exeter but can be available for viewing elsewhere for genuinely interested buyers.

 

MOT and Service both due and these will be completed pre-sale

Just replaced the Spark Plugs which looked rather tired with new triple electrode replacements

Summary

• Originally registered August 2002
• Never CAT registered
• 69,500 miles
• 8 owners
• Black leather Interior - Including center console
• Fully carpeted Interior
• HID Lights
• Gloss black alloys
• Carbon fiber dashplates
• Milltek exhaust (told by the owner i bought from it has the 100 cel sports cat but I've been unable to verify)
• ITG cone filter and steel induction hose
• Black rear diffuser
• New pads and disks all round 2 months ago
• Turbo window seals for better ingress protection
• De-ved but comes with the car and palatially de-badged
• Brand new windscreen with black surround just fitted
• Always garaged whilst in my possession

 

Bad Bits

• EML - Lambda sensor not working, I have a cheater just not gotten around to fitting it
• Brake vacuum hose needs replacing - hard peddle and high pitched sucking noise
• Paint peel around the exhaust
• Paintwork all round is generally scratched and swirl marked
• Rear right wing and wheel have been scrubbed on something (pre me buying it)
• The usual drivers bolster wear
• Cracked sill around the engine release handle
• Only a single key and alarm fob
• Lacking service history evidence... lots of paperwork but book only stamped once

 

Comes with a number of additional items purchased but not yet fitted:

• Pair of rear NA alloys - aimed on putting up front to expand tyre options
• New heat shield and mesh for above the exhaust
• Set of spare seat runners - planned modifying pax seating position
• Lambda cheater - to resolve the EML error, just needs fitting
• Throttle body and intake - was planning porting and polishing
• Couple of sets of Badass engine covers without fixings

Is this the wrong place to come advertise a car for sale? Not a single lick of interest other than a swap, did I sign up to premium by mistake rather than spend the £12 on Pistonheads?

I'd try and sort some of the issues CK - The price is good for one thats just flown through an MOT and in good condition.....

Buyers might hold out for better cars (I did when I was buying). From the description it looks to be on original timing chain, radiator, engine mounts, these cost money and will probably need replacement soon.

 

Plus it's silver, I don't know if these are easier or harder to sell?

Yes needs full repaint probably an bits doing , all adds up .

What?! Are people seriously expecting flawless paintwork on 15 year old GRP low cars?

 

Radiator won't necessarily need doing soon, as said on the general forum, the alloy ones fail more often it seems!

 

It's priced low to reflect all of this. Why do people insist on talking down the value of these cars?!

Agreed, this isnt my first rodeo with a VX and the last one I sold 5 years ago was in far worse condition paintwork wise it just happens on these cars (including 'premium' elise).

 

If it ain't broke don't fix it, I need to check but i'm fairly sure the rad has been changed. It has also had a brand new battery a couple of months back.

 

I set the price with all the 'negatives' in mind, its not mint, doesn't have a flawless history and as such rather than asking 8.5k+ i set a more reasonable 7.5k

 

It would take well less than 1k to get this up to very good condition, and if you can live with some of the foybles like I have its +0k to get on with enjoying the car!

Yellow looks damn good

Blue was my second choice, would have been happy with that.

MOT included resolving the brake servo hose issue previously mentioned

Also just replaced the Spark Plugs with new triple electrode type plugs

• Rear right wing and wheel have been scratched on on a wall, its a 2 inch by 5mm scratch on the wing (in pictures)
• The usual drivers bolster wear
• Cracked sill around the engine release handle
• Single key and alarm fob
• Patchy service history... lots of paperwork but book only stamped once
