Thought Id start a project thread on my C20LET powered VX220.  Its an N/A Shell with a C20LET, that is running on full Z20LET loom and management, so I nicknamed it Frankenstein as its bits and bobs from various cars.

Apologies, the first few posts will be a bit crammed, then I plan on keeping it updated.

I bought the car late 2013 to replace my old crashed track Astra that I rolled on track. Astra had C20LET and F28 box (cage worked well   )

Just at the right time, this Cat D Vx220 showed up with no engine

It was a cat D write off when the last owner bought it, fitted a 2.0 Turbo and entered TOTB in it. It was put back on the road and VIC checked etc.

He then decided to brake it for parts, I bought the shell and this is how it looked

Lightened doors, Safety Devices cage, Nitrons and the loom stripped to death to remove as much weight as possible.

I'm still wanting to use the car on the road and actually use it to go places, so I bought a full turbo car loom from ebay to try and fit some stuff back in, was a beast of a job, you’d never think the loom was so big.

Took it along to Russ Paton @ Performance HQ. The car made 330 odd BHP with same torque at 1.1 Bar, so was mega chuffed at that. Engine can go much more but the injectors are limiting it now as its only 470 VXR ones in it.

Great build Craig.

Cheers dude, at a recent SLS meet at knockhill it was 870 odd.  Still more to come out if i decide to put the light doors and windows back on.  Ignore the corner weights.

God almighty, awesome project, quite awesome. Loads of new ideas in there, I particularly like the exhaust box config, never thought of doing that.

Can't wait to meet this car and you :)

880 Kg is bloody light, I wonder how you got it so low ?

How is your rear wing attached? Onto or through the clam? Angle looks a bit steep.

Nice build. Is the c20 a better block than z20?
